Livingroom or fishstore?

Our living/dinning room area is looking more and more like a fish store. We've got betta, angelfish, tetra, platys, african cichlids, eggs layers, liver bearers, mouth brooders and nest builders. But I love it.
In the living room is the 120g, 44g corner and 5g betta. The kitchen another 12g divided in 3 and the bedroom a 5g both betta.
The pixs are of the 3/33g, 25g, 15g and 12g tanks. We are setting the second room up as a fish room as soon as it is cleaned up. We need to trash some furniture. We are getting a few more larger tanks for breeding purposes.

More pixs down in thread

You're right, it is a fish store.

Your cat looks kind of nervous, maybe he thinks all those fish are plotting against him.

I recognize that look. It's the look of a cat that's ticked off at the pre-flash.

And yes, that does look like a fish store.

Allie.. and others with the fish tanks in their living rooms as I have three of them there, what is the most common question folks ask when they come in your place? Im willing to bet its something like...
" how can you stand the noise all the time?"...
I guess we get used to the sound of the water pumps, filters going and water spilling over the filter?
I always reply.. " what noise?"

you know its easy to get so used to that noise because its "white noise" and I think its relaxing! I don't notice it unless something is wrong w/ a filter and it makes a funny noise.. like a car or air conditioner...

yep. .this is true! I think we are all tuned into any 'strange' noises coming from our tanks.

If I find it gets too noisy. I just do a top off in the loud tank. For the most part I like the trickling sound.
More pix of the rest of the area.

Allie,
I really have to thank you for posting your pictures.

I just told my family I am getting another 10 gallon tomorrow.

When they groaned that I enough tanks, I happily showed them your thread.

Our living room was like that before we moved The first thing everybody said when they came in was "Why don't you have a couch" and my husband would tell them I made him throw it away so I could put another tank in

LOL.. I love it! We know how you feel. We're looking at new apartments now and when we look at one, automatically start figuring out where all the tanks will go and how much room there would be for more tanks. I think it's great to live in a 'fishstore' - congrats on yours!

That is a fish tank stand for a 4ft tank. We haven't decided what to do with it yet....I am sure we'll figure out what to do with it.

Thanks...it's really funny when people come to buy fish. They always say it is a fish store.
Yeah our next place we will be moving too (whenever we can find it) has to have as much room as here for tanks.

I remembered one time somebody mentioned about a fish store in our area. And I told them, there was none. Now I know there is 1.

One of these days, I'll be by your store. Not that I need any more fish, but just to nose around.

I have every confidence that you'll figure something out!!

The next time my nosy, PITA sister-in-law asks me if I don't think I"m going overboard - with one 20 gal, one 10 gal and two 5 gals for gosh's sakes(!!!) I'll show her your pics! That will shut her up.

The building was made back in the 50-60s with steal floor joyces (sp?). They are strong...the floors don't bow at all. We lucked out on that one. We are planning on moving as soon as we find a suitable bottom floor/basement apartment. The floors may be strong around here but the rest the of the building is crappy.

One day I was talking to my Mom telling her that for my birthday I was getting a 37G tank and she jokingly said "What are you going to do? trough out your recliner?", "Yup That's just what I'm going to do!" and I did. Now I have 37G, 10G, 5.5G and a 1G that I have my Cherry Red Shrimp in. I had them in the 5.5G but I had to move them as there tank is overrun with pond snails that I feed to my Clown Loaches. Now Im trying to net Loachy and Loki so they can be moved over to the 5.5G to eat up a mass of snails then I will move them back to the big tank. I will hate to have to give/sale them when they get too big for the 37G tank.
