I am not sure exactly what species it is. It was one of FishNFry's babies. She has all kinds of species of bns. She called them regular bns.

Ouch what happen with him?? Hope he gets better soon.
He's looking like a male now, isn't he? His parents are actually "wild caught" (from Below Water) so that makes him an F1. They're only labeled as ancistrus sp. but the dad has more yellowish spots on its body.. I have 3 different kinds of bns so I called these ones as the regular bns, then I have some albino bns and then the long-fin albino bns. Here's a picture of his dad, Allie.

Cool C thanks for the info. So they are F1 babies, both my male & female...who is the first one we got off your first batch of reg bns?
I am not exactly sure what happened. But he and the female who is double his size we're in the 2nd batch of acei fry's tank for a day or 2 and this happened to him. I really don't know what it can be, other than the female got cross with him.

He is breathing isn't shallow anymore and the rest of the injury besides his tail is pretty much healed. He seems better to me.

Yes they're F1s. He could've gotten stuck underneath a rock or something at some point. I never see any aggression in my tank with mine and I have all sorts of sizes in 1 tank and they never hurt anyone.
Anyway, hope he'll get better pretty soon.

Maybe I hurt him when I was cleaning the tanks, moving stuff around...or when I moved him from 44g to the 30g.

He looks like he's doing better... I saw a different post of yours when it just happened, and it looked a lot worse then. Looks like it's healing (hopefully!)

I agree, I saw your post from earlier and I think he is looking better. What did you end up using for him?

Nothing, just water changes. A friend of ours use to sell just plecos and he said try the clean water high temps & the bn should heal up. So far so good. We don't like to use meds if we don't have to. Sometimes meds kill the fish.

Just check HER out. It's doing a lot better today. Not a bit of redness at all. Just bruised looking.
