Say hello Gordon RAMsey.

I got him one day short of a week ago.

He is SO COOL! He begs for food. His colors are almost comparable to a SW fish. He is VERY cool under my moonlight.

His name comes from the chef from the TV show, He#L's Kitchen.
I think all you UKers know who I am talking about. I like him he's a very cool person.

I know how to keep him and all that stuff. He is doing FINE in my tank. Trust me, he was $$ so I am going to keep GREAT care of him.

I have done some research on them and I think that the tank would be fine if I put a female in there for him,IF I can get them to pair off.

He is all that I have in my tank now. Rupert was NOT happy when I put him in. So Rupert is now in my mom's tank with his co-dependent platy.

Too cool for school.....Andy, your Gordon Ramsey is a handsome lad. I hope you can find a gal for him....they should be ok, I'm not sure they really require the same bond angles seem to need. Don't know for sure, but if you get a female, and there are plenty of caves and hiding spots, so they can get used to each other slowly, it should be ok.

Nice guy! He is really broad/large, haven't seen a male like that in a while!

About the whole mate thing, I wouldn't. A 10 gallon just isn't big enough for a male and female GBR.

Nice shots of Gordon dude.. now about a ten gal. tank being too small for a pair of Rams, that's not exactly true since they're classed as 'Dwarf Cychlids'.. as long as the pair of Rams are the only occupants, you're safe.. the male and famale being introduced to the tank at the same time is the best case scenario.. but in your case, having to introduce the female after, as long as you have sufficient plants/ornaments to break up line-of-sight in the first few days, you should be alright.

I don't say it because of stocking issues, male GBR's are extremely aggressive towards the females and in a 10 gallon tank there wouldn't be enough space for the female to escape the male, all but one GBR breeder I know recomends 15 gallon tanks, the other one recomends 20 per pair.

Gordon is a gorgeous Ram, looks nice and sturdy.
I don't think I would add another Ram to the 10 gallon either for the simple reason the ratio needs to be 1 male/2 females. A male ram will harass a lone female to death. According to size a 10 g would be big enough but attitude/aggressiveness taken in to consideration I don't feel it is. I have kept a trio in a 15G with fairly good luck but he was a busy fella still. Just my worth.

I am not sure if I AM going to put a female in there.

He is doing VERY well on his own. I might,MIGHT put some tetras in there but I don't think I am going to get a female GBR.
He eat like a hog. 2 to 3 crushed, small size Omega One cichlid pellets a day.
