My 10 Gallon Tank

What do you think? I will probably be putting live plants in the tank once it is cycled, likely a small one in the middle and two taller ones where the two plastics are.

Looks good so far. I was wondering why you are going to wait till the tank is cycled? If you add them now they can help your cycle along by absorbing the n/ates

Lovely tank. I really like the background you chose because it adds a lot of depth.

Thank you! one problem with the background tho: there seems to be all these "bubbles" of air in different places and where these bubbles are, the background is alot less colorful. what I want to know, is how to get the background so that there are no bubbles and the color of the background is fully displayed. thanks in advance!

Oh, and about the Plants, I am going to put a trio of dwarf gourami's (1 male, 2 females), and a couple ghost shrimp, and was wondering what plants they prefered. thanks in advance again.

If you figure that out I really want to know! I have tried so hard to get the bubbles out of my tank background and it always has them anyway Even if you paint the tank it often has lighter spots than others Hope you get an answer!

About the background issue, here is what I do.

Take the background off and wipe it down with a wet sponge. The water will "adhere" the background to your tank. Tape one side down to the glass then, using a credit card or something similar, work the bubbles out toward the side that isn't taped. By removing the air, the water and air kind of create a vacuum of sorts that will keep the BG looking pretty. Once you have all the bubbles worked out with the credit card, tape the other side down to the glass as tightly as possible.

FYI, this is a lot easier to do BEFORE the tank is filled, which I found out the hard way!!! By, with a ten gallon, you should be alright. In my 55 the BG is super dark because I forgot to put it on before I filled the tank and I can't get behind it

Hope this helps. I also hear that this same process can be accomplished using vasoline, but aside from it sounding like a huge mess, I'm not sure if something harmful would leech thru the glass and harm the fish. Water works great.

Thankyou very much for that spot of wisdom about the background. Also, i would be quite sure that the vasoline wouldn't leech through the glass.
