Sadly, they are Bio-Balls. Petland got me. I'm thinking I will be able to put them in the new filter I bought so that they won't completely rip me off.

Yea, I think the big chain stores get us all at some time though. Petco got us for a lot of stuff when we started out.

Bio-balls are the blue balls in the top of the 29g. They are meant to have cycling bacteria grow on them. But my LFS didn't tell me the proper way to use them, which is seen in my tank at the moment.

Any suggestions to make each tank look better is greatly appreciated. I will be looking for a backing. Should I go with black, mirror, or picture?

Black would bring out the fish, unless you have a fish that is back, like a mollie, or upside down catfish!
