5 gallon neon tetra tank
Sorry for the really bad pictures (taken with a cell phone), and the mess surrounding the tank.
Just wanted to see what everyone thought of my tank and its setup. It has just 4 little neon tetras. Any comments or advice on how I could improve anything would be appreciated.

Welcome to Fishlore! I think the tank looks setup very nicely for neons and you have just the right amount of them for that tank so I don't have any comments on improving it. Looks great.

I was thinking of getting a ghost shrimp, but I really didn't want to overpopulate the tank. It's been running strong for a little over a year now with just the 4 neon tetras, so I wouldn't want to add something new and totally screw it up.
But I'm still not sure.....any ideas?

I'd add some more plants, not fish. It's cute...I'd like to have one of those 5g hexs for a betta.

I started with 3 neons and a guppy. Unfortunately the guppy didn't last too long and I lost 2 Neons along the way. But all in all the neons, too me, are REALLY hardy fish. I think they're one of the best species to start with... but thats just my opinion.
I think you should go for it, having six of them would probably make it even easier on you. I'm pretty sure that a larger school releives stress on the fish.

I really like the new setup! Maybe even some more plants(mostly background) and one or two in the foreground up close to the front of the tank. It will look like a professional tank then lol =).
Are those live plants? jw

Thanks!
They're all fake believe it or not. The more established ones look pretty real when they get algae growing on them, huh?
I always try to pick the most realistic ones I can find.

Great looking tank. I just replaced a swin through cave with that same decoration in my tetra tank.

Thanks!
I've seen a lot of people with that same tank ornament, it's great for the price.
