My new fish

I got 4 Pseudotropeus Acei one male, possibly 3 females. Sometimes African Malawi cichlids hide their gender on you until you notice it holding or being super aggressive. I love the Ps. Acei b/c they are schoolers. The swim back & forth and up & down all day. The make our tank much more active. I love these purple/blue fish.

Acei are great fish.

Be prepared, they breed like rabbits.

That's what we want.
Can't be any worse than the yellow labs I had.

It's close.

There are so many at the Atlanta auctions , they usually go for about 10 fry a dollar for 1-1.5 inch fry.

That's odd b/c they are hard to find here. Maybe they just aren't popular.

Some areas are just more cichlid-heavy I guess. Denver is like that.

Availability is weird like that.

Fish that are common as dirt in one location are impossible to find in others.

Charlotte NC and Atlanta are less than 4-5 hours apart and there is a fairly brisk flow of fish between the clubs, but there are still a lot of fish that are hard to get in one location but easy to find in the other.

Cincininatti, 5 hours north of here, has an even great difference in fish available.
That is why I try to get up there to one of their auctions, at least once a year.
