FINALLY!!! Roseline Shark!

Went to the LFS today just to check things out and behold, they had 8 Roseline Sharks in stock. I have been wating almost a year since I first saw one of there beauties in another LFS's show tank. I missed an opportunity to pick one up last time they had them about 4 months ago and I wasn't going to pass them by twice. He is now the centerpiece of my 70 Gal. community barb tank. This is a crappy piece I took with my phone. Once I get some free time I will take better pics with my Rebel. Enjoy!

He's doing great so far. He swims from one side to the other and no one seems to bother him and so far he doesn't bother any one either. His tank mates are 9 Gold Barbs, 5 Black Ruby Barbs, an angelfish, a Bolivian Ram, a Giant Gouarmi, 5 Longfinned Zebra Danio's, a couple of Rubbernosed Plecos, and a 5 full grow Black Skirt Tetras. The only worry I do have is my Angelfish, he just kind of floats around lazily and I'm afraid the shark might pick on him. If he does I have 5 other tanks I can move him into (the angelfish that is).

Hello,

I just purchased 3 roseline sharks about two weeks ago, They are doing great and get along very well with their tank mates - tetra's, cory's, and dwarf gourami's. The only thing I was wondering Bert is, I was told that roseline sharks are schooling fish, Do you plan on getting more?

Best Regards,

Cool, I don't think we've ever run across any of those at the stores.

These are lovely barbs, Puntius denisonii barb, a great profile can be found at
www.fishforums.com/forum/profile-article-discussions/15354-puntius-denisonii-progress.html ,

where other places I have seen this have water temperatures in the range of 65-79, this article suggests that keeping it at 82 will keep the fish healthier, they tend to get dropsy at the lower temp., and all you have to do is make sure the water in the tank is heavily oxygenated with a power head....

Not a shark, but just like the "Bala shark", a Barb......

They do need to be kept in a schoal, and other wise seem like a great choice for a large community tank.

Thanks for drawing our attention to these, I'll have to keep my eyes out for them .
