Thanks, EmpPleco, but it seems that you need to become a member . . . I already have too many accounts on different sites, and anyways, this will probably be the only time I'll ever even be using it! Any other suggestions?
Thanks, Butterfly! Emma, actually, I'm not sure if it is a Betta Kit or not. It came from my friend, who used to have newts. Yes, they are Fiddler Crabs. ATM, they will not have to be upgraded. 5 gallons is enough for 2 Fiddler CRabs, because at full growth, they will only grow about two inches around. (So basically about 1 inch long)
By the way, I already know that my 2 Silver Dollars are WAY too big for my tank. When they become huge, I will have to sell them to my friend, who has a 60 gallon.
Well, actually, it's pretty easy. All I actually had to pay for was the gravel, food, and the crabs themself. I gathered together some rocks and shells I found on the beach, and I got my tank off a friend, like I said. I feed them HBH Crab and Lobster Bites. When it comes to maintenance, all that is required is that you clean their tank every week - a week and a half. This hobby of keeping Fiddler Crabs is easier than I expected it would!
you do know theiy like a half and half set up with half land and half water so maybe if you bought more gravel and piled it up on one of the sides with a slanted side so they can get up and out they would lilke it better not sure just doing a lot more research
you do know they like to be near water but not completely submerged in it and like to be in brackish water
Thanks Isabella!
ATM, sorry for the late response, I think that to clean the tank is simple. Just remove the crabs into a little container with a tiny bit of water, and remove all the water with a bucket. Then, of course, put more in! In terms of the gravel, that's exactly what I have done. It's an easy way of doing it, and it looks nice. And about the brackish water, I know what site you were on. It's not accurate. Trust me, they DON'T need brackish water. They live for a maximum of 2 years in freshwater.

no you dont know where i have been since i have been to many different and all the sites say the maximum life expectancy of fiddlercrabs in FW is 6 months so time will telll thats all
well i have yet to get them yet. I think i can convince my mom to get them instead of another tank better so right now i am doing my research and going to keep them in a half and half setup and brackish water but still doing research but robodude where do yous go to the bathroom i havent found anything where they do that and how to clean it up
Well, I haven't actually seen any poop yet (remember, this is a new tank) but when they do poop, it's specks that are very small. I don't believe they "use" that often anyways!
Put it this way, you are gonna need to clean their tank every 1-2 weeks, because, well, they're CRABS, but you know, they only eat like 2 pellets every day, and they're like tiny!
