This little platty really held out. It has been well over 30 days from the last clutch...however, the last clutch may not have been hers. But now we have 28 little orange specs!

Poor thing, she looked like she could explode for the last week. Then, her first one popped out at 10am and her last one was around 5pm...all day long!
And as soon as she was completely done...I looked in my community tank and thought I saw a guppy gobble up a fry. I snatched out 3 females that "could" be the birthing mom...and sure enough, I walked away for 10 minutes and came back to one of them and 7 fry.

INCOMING!!! She continued for several hours spitting out 2-3 fry at a time every 3-5 minutes. I lost count but think there are another 35 of the guppy fry. Would have included pics of that as well...but my batteries had already died snapping pics of the dwarf platty and getting short vid clips of the births. Oh well, there's always next month...or next week!
Enjoy. I know when I first set up my aquarium/vivarium, I looked all over for birth shots. Didn't find many, and the ones I did were so blurry, you couldn't tell what you were looking at. Hope these are a little better.
