LOL... I Knoooow..... BUT... when I was finally able to identify the gender, on the only two females they had... then I noticed the ICH on them. It wasnt bad.. but it was enough for me to say NO WAY!!....They took them right out to QT and treat them.
So have to still wait for the ride on sunday to the other place to look for females. But will call them first since its going to be about a 95+ mile ride round trip.
BUT the cory do go well with the GBR's and im setting up the tank for GBR and with who I think will get along with them.

I never included any cories on my list of "want-to-get-in-the-future" fish (lol), but I am now officially adding them to the list I never realized how cute these little guys are
I feel stupid asking that question (I never really learned more about cories) ... but what is their purpose in a tank? Do they eat algae or something? Or just whatever the leftovers of food on the bottom of the tank? Or are they just show fish, like other fish?

yea, they do an excellent job of cleaning the tank substrata. They are a lot of fun to watch, especially when you have at least 6 of them. Cory cats are part of why we went to flat glass marbles for substrata in fact.

Hi Kate. I read this thread really quickly so apologies if this is already covered but: are they home now, or did you return them because of the ich? Anyway, if you kept them, congrats! Plus thought I'd let you know that you've taken a VERY addictive step.
I just wanted to say that if you have the space, it would be worth trying to get a hold of other corys who'll reach a comparable adult size so that they can school. My panda cory was greatful for me getting another 2. He's always hanging aroudn with his new buddies now.
Isabella, I felt just like you for a while and then I tried a couple for the **** of it. Haven't looked back since. Am thinking of opening my own cory museum at this rate, LOL.

Hi Armadillo
Well the german blue rams that had the ICH were the ones I was looking at, at the LFS. No those I did not take home. The three that I bought last week are doing fine, no ICH. So hoping it is just something that happened at the LFS and not at the breeders. But I will watch mine to make sure they do not have it as well.
The two spotted cory cats that I brought home yesterday are fine, they do not have ICH. I agree, they are so cute...lol.. and most likely I will add some more at some point soon. I really like the pattern on the spotted cories, so may just get more of them instead of another type. I did not have a lot of luck on the two albino cories that I once had in the tank, they only lasted a few weeks at the most. Im hoping that I have better luck with these two.
I can see how they can be addictive! lol.. ~ kate
ps.. OOOOOOOO I see MORE smilies have been added since yesterday! hahah... love it!

Cooooool! Are you getting many corys? I think they prefer it with a minimum of three of their size (don't think it has to be the same species).

I think my albinos are insane!
I rarely see them on the bottom, unless its feeding time... they just swim all over the tank, up, down & across... they never sit still. I have 6 now, because I thought that having more would help them relax and school... but, I found they wont school either... wierd!
Crazy little guys! But hey, I do love that they are active!
