finally after 3 weeks of cycling today i went out and got my fish

i got 5 pentazona barb
6 cardinal tetra
2 Cockatoo Cichlid
and 1 angelfish called Smokey
some people will say ive added too many at once but i have a strong filter.
my angel is called Smokey

stinky pete one of my pentazonas died last night i dont know what happened but he was rejected by the others
you can but cockatoo cichlid in with almost anything they are generally timid

beautiful fish! i'll have to keep a lookout for cockatoo cichlids. i've never seen them in any LFS/LPS that i've gone into.

my lfs maidenhead aquatics st albans got a wide varition of cichlids i know for definate they got bolivian rams , dutch rams, cockatoo cichlids, kribensis

i think its a green cambomba from south america only the best for my cichlids

...um i'm pretty sure thats not in your cichlid tank...but w/e, i have one in my tank and had no idea what it was...i got it from petsmart, so you know i got no names there

this is what happened

1st week i lieave it running without making it go faster
2nd week then we go to the lfs and they suggest artificial bacteria to get things started so i went home turned off filter and opened it but the water kept coming it wouldnt stop.after 1 small flood. i start the cycle again with new bacteria.
then i was done with my last water change on sat

if you buy store brand ammonia that is 100% no additives .when you start your new tank and a few drops a days ,pending how big of a tank,until u start getting a ammonia reading on ur test kit then start adding your bacteria to your tank,after the bacteria has taking place on use half the ammonia drops until u start getting a nitrate reading,stop ammonia do a water change 20%-30% and now ur tank is ready 3-5days....

New additions i have bourght today after almost all the cardinal tetra i got have died and the last one seems to be schooling with the barbs

So far ive got

1 Angelfish 6"
2 Cockatoo Cichlid 5"
4 Pentazona Barb 8"
1 Cardinal Tetra 2"
3 Peppered Cory Cats 6"
2 Blue Rams 6"

My tank is at full capacity and is very lively and beautiful to watch and look at
