Snails being eaten

I have a 20 gallon long tank established for app 1month with 2 blue rams 5 harlequin rasboras and 1 serpae tetra I added 12 rams horn snails app. 1-2 weeks ago well all the snails have been eaten all that is left are empty snail shells . Who is eating the snails?

Perhaps the serpae tetra b/c Blue rams and Harlequin rasboras do not eat ram shorn snails. A buddy from work has them in his 55g long and the rasboras leave them be. The blue rams info I got from here http://www.aquariumadvice.com/forums...ggs-98116.html Though I find that strange those fish will eat your snails... hmm Have you tested your water parameters? First ones that usually go with bad water quality are snails and shrimps.

Welcome to Fishlore!!

i agree, snails and shrimp are usually the ones who show signs of poor water quality. Could they have died and then eaten?

I'm sorry about your snails.
I've got serpaes and they never touch live snails. I guess they might find them tasty after they passed.
Are you sure someone is eating them and they're not just leaving their shells to die?

Whoa to all the help!!! Add this to your knowledge Ballon Rams do love snails, I set up my digital camera on a 1minute repeat exposure and with my computer downloading the files guess what app 2-3 hours after lights out my 2 baloon rams who do nothing but spar with each other all day decide to team up on my snails they hit and hit and hit them until they break them loose then dive in for the meat. I was wondering where all the snail meat went form them just leaving the shells and dying, with 16 dime size snails there would have been some meat somwhere. well I am left with 3 snails who are motoring around my tank biding there time. Thanks for the answers.
