I just wanted to encourage people to check out a true SAE if they are able to.
This is not the chinese algae eater, this article is helpful in identification.

This little guy is like a pair of buzz clippers on the hair algae in my tank. He is also fun to watch because, as the
LFS showed me, he is unable to hover without swimming. If he stops waving his fins he sinks. He is constantly swimming.
Also, he is a schooling fish despite being the only one of his species in the tank. Its funny watching him try to school with the cories or the tetras. In a not-for-sale tank at the LFS, they had a full grown one and it was probably 4 inches, so I may have to get a larger tank down the line. I am planning on doing so anyway. Right now though, he is a great fit at about an inch and a half.
If you have some algae problems, try one of these out.
