*added pics*HELP PLEASE my poor gourami - this should have in disease i think

she has had a rough road.

i got this honey sunset gourami with some other random fish from some guy in trade for plants. all of the fish had fin rot. i put them all in my 55 gallon and watched carefully as i have two other gouramis
my paradise gourami was determined to not be friends with this one. she got a few nips to add to her woes. i moved her to my 25. she was fine for quite a while. i have no concept of time right now...a week? more?
anyways, she was hiding a lot two days ago and i started watching her carefully. one of my long finned rosy barbs was attacking it *sigh* i scooped her out right away and moved her to my ten gallon. good grief.
she is looking pretty beat up. her lips even look weird. she is eating though, and swimming normally. i added stress coat right away.

my question is, how often can i treat with stress coat?

ETA: How do I know if the wounds have become infected?

oh no poor thing!! you can treat her everyday with partial 20-30% water changes....if you can find some vita chem and add some fresh garlic juice(about 2 drops) to the new water also, that will help her as well...good luck!

how can i recognize if the wounds become infected? and if they do, what do i treat it with?
where can i get garlic juice? or do i just crush some garlic?

dont treat with anything except fresh clean water every day with some stress coat and vita chem.its going to take a couple weeks..it doesnt happen over night..but the prestine water is a must so her boo boo's dont get worse .....you can purchase fresh garlic in a small jar at your local grocery store usually and just take a couple drops out of that..or you can try to crush some garlic but its much harder to get the juice out...she can eat small piece of garlic if she is eating...a size of her eye a couple times a week will perk her up a bit also....

I think in some of the bigger pet stores you can buy it. Or over the internet. Do a Google search.

i will pick up some vita chem. i have a huge tub of crushed garlic from Costco... so i just take out some of the liquid from that?
the vita chem, i add that directly to the water or to the food?

i dont feel that i have time to order something off the internet. by the time it gets here, it might be too late. i need something right away.

yes you can use the juice from the crushed garlic I would add the vita chem directly to her water 2-4 times a week but the stress coat, every day with your small water changes ...garlic juice 2 times a week with her food soaked in it will be great...

ive had a few bettas and one that even flew out of his bowl and was found licked by our puppy..again it takes a couple weeks but the prestine water and stress coat are going to be the major things of daily cleanliness...the others are a bonus and will help healing..I wish you both much luck!@

Good morning. Above is a link that may be a big help to you. It has some "graphic" pictures of fish disease that may help you to diagnose the problem.
Good luck!

i saw her being bitten where some of those marks are. is it possible for another fish to take interest in an ulcer?

does it look like its moved on to bacterial infection?

she looks the same this morning.

no changes. still eating and swimming normally. water changes daily, stress coat daily, garlic juice yesterday and reduced dosage (1/4) of melafix.

I'm really sorry about your DG.
My poor Rommy is sick too. Not as bad as your baby but seems to be getting worse.
I started to treat for what I thought was a bacterial infection on Sunday. Not positive, but that's what it looked like to me.
He started to look better but now I'm thinking he's developing sores like your fishy.

I'm afraid iridovirus is rearing it's ugly head again. Antibiotics won't help since it's a fatal virus.
