Anyone who keeps Danios know that they love chasing each other all around. Well tonight I noticed all mine were all chasing and circling one of their school mates. It looked pretty violent. My Danios(zebras) Sometimes seem to turn a shade of yellow and red. The one they were messing with was the only one in the pack that was still black and silver. I tried breaking them up by putting my hand near them and they seemed to stop. Well I just turned my lights on for night time feeding and the one they were harassing was dead and his/her stomach was opened up. Anyone know why this has happened? Are they known for this?

Weird. Danios do breed at sunrise and sunset. The breeding does look aggressive but i havent breed danios before, I just read about breeding them. My guess would be that the breeding got to aggressive or the female died of a disease.

I'm sorry about your danio. Seems pretty bad. I'm not really experienced with Danios but try checking your water parameters. Some fish change behaviour depending on water parameter levels.
