| Suggestions on stocking 37 gallon (tall) tank Hello, I have a new Marineland 37 gallon tank. It has cycled and is ready for fish. I want to set up a community tank with lots of color, personality and bottom, middle, and top level swimmers. I'm thinking small to medium size fish due to tank size. I've been reading about all the choices of fish (so many), and now I have information overload. So, I'm asking for suggestions on what experienced fish keepers would do. |

| How about keeping an angelfish a your centerpiece fish? They like tall tanks. You could add a pair or harem of rams or apistogramma; they will stay mostly in the bottom half of the tank. A school of corydoras would be nice for the bottom as well. You'd still have room for a school of tetras, like lemon, Von Rio, diamond, etc. If you choose an angelfish as a centerpiece, you'll need to avoid smaller tetras like neons; it is likely that small tetras will eventually be eaten. If you like smaller tetras better, you can substitute a pearl gourami for the angel. They are beautiful once they settle into the tank, and peaceful too, plus they stay smaller than angels. |

| It doesn't take too long if they are well-cared for. They grow pretty quickly. |

| Exciting tank options!
I am a fan of Angelfish as I have one as the center piece in my tank. I would propose 1 Angel, 2 small SA Cichlids such as Dwarf Flag or Bolivian Rams, and a small school of 7 Diamond Tetras (or other medium sized tetra) and a small school of 6 Corries.
Here is a good site for determining how many fish you can have for the size of your tank. http://www.aqadvisor.com/ Here is you tank at 100% with the fish mentioned above.
I hope this helps! |

I hope this helps! | That is a great suggestion. Definitely go with angels.
I would put in angel fish, tiger barbs, a small school pygmy cory, and a small school of tetras. Pretty much what is posted above. German Blue Ram Cichilds are great. |

| I would go with Discus or Angelfish! But I'd only choose Discus if I'm hardworking enough to maintain so much work to do for them. If Angelfish, I'd go with the whole tank of Angelfish. They're quite nice to watch if you get a variety of them in different colors. Best of luck! Hope to see pictures as soon as its done! |

| I think you should have a bigger tank for discus(go buy it) for them to be happy. They get huge and can be picky eaters. |

My SW only has 4 fish and it looks great. I do not get new fish everyday. I get fish every three days along with plants.
Good Luck with the tank! I haven't found a thread where your tank is stocked. |
