Are there any fish that will eat snails and are compatible with tetras?

I have a pond and ramshorn snail problem in a couple of my tanks. I am trying assassin snails in one of the tanks but I was wondering if anyone could suggest a fish that would eat snails and coexist peacefully with my neons, bleeding hearts and khulis. Any ideas?

Yeah, I think thats to small. Plus, in my opinion, its not the best plan to get fish to solve a problem. Have you tried putting in a peice of cucumber overnight?

clowns need at a minimum of 75g (280l) for themselves you could try getting a small loach that wont get to big and eats snails we had one as an adult it was 7cm long and it was maxed out but it died

cant remember its name it was striped like a zebra it was silver with black stripes

Frequently people buy loaches to solve a snail problem then when their gone they no longer want the loach. Overfeeding can cause a snail population explosion.
So Doing a couple of deep substrate vacuums(get rid of excess food and snail eggs), a couple of large water changes and reducing the amount of food(a fishes stomach is the size of one eye) may go a long way to reducing your snail population. Using fresh veggies(lettuce, zuchinni etc) at night will attract the snails then you can remove them in the morning.
If you have room for loaches and would like them there are several that would fit your tank. Loaches need to be in groups of three or more. Dwarf Chain Loaches would be perfect for your tank and are very personable. here's a link look and see what you think.

Thanks for the info!

I have tried the vegetable thing before but I didn't have much luck. My problem with the snails is that since I tried to underfeed, to control the population, they've decided to eat my plants.

I checked out the link that you posted. I like the look of the dwarf chain loach but I doubt I'll be able to find them in my area.

Sorry you've had such problems with snails. I assume the snails came in on the plants. Dipping them before putting them into a tank will help.

A few snails are not a bad thing as the keep the substrate loose and keep food eaten out of places the fish can't get to.
Maybe your LFS would order the chain loaches and I see them on aquabid occasionally. Most other small loaches get to at least five inches and wouldn't be suitable in a group for your tank.

The snails did come on the plants. At first I didn't mind them but then the population exploded and they are everywhere. It looks infested and they create a lot of waste. I'll be dipping all my new plants now...

I'm not too confident that fish ordered from Aquabid would get to me alive. Where I live, shipping usually takes at least a day more than most places. Can anyone comment on this?
