livebeareres eating plants?

i have two swordtails and two plattys in my 55 gallon planted tank. they are really enjoying munching on the hornwort. ive noticed some nibbling on some other plants but not too much. I dont really care as i have to thin the hornwort constantly anyways, but i just havent heard/read of them doing this.
so is that normal behaviour?

Yes, my platies LOVE to nibble on the hornwort... what can you do? stomachs with fins.
