Oscar in a 20 Gal?

Its full grown, would be taken off a friend who is moving and it is barely 8 inches (female albino) Would it be OK by itself in a 20 gal. (With proper filtration ofcourse)?

unfortunately no, oscars need at a bare minimum a 55 gallon tank and that's with really excellent filtration, i'd suggest closer to a 75 or 125 for that matter.

oh yeah, sorry shawnie but it is... its been alive for 5 years now, born in my friends tank. She is sad she has to give her away but shes moving cross country and is getting rid of all her fish. I dont know why but I swear, I do not lie, this fish is only 8 inches....

what size tank was the oscar kept in before? if it's only gotten to 8 inches then its growth was probably stunted, and even if not at five years she's still growing.

sorry pestonoodle but its stunted im sure because it gets way bigger ...oscars grow fast the first few years then slow down..im not saying you are lieing by any means but im telling you its not full grown yet
