Well you know that 46 gallon tank I just got? Well it is looking kinde of empty. I was thinking about getting some anglefish. How many could I get? And would they be peaceful to my other fish? (2 gouramis, 4 corycats, 1 pleco)

what kind of pleco do you have?

depending on that, i'd say either get just one angelfish or get two but in order to have two you'll have to have a pair. the only way to go about this is to either buy a proven breeding pair (which can get very expensive) or to buy six juvenile angels (same size/shape/coloration/etc), wait for a pair to emerge and then return or sell the rest.

i've heard of some people having issues with angels and gouramis, so that might be something to consider as well. what kind of gouramis are they?

I have a highfin pleco. And my gouramis are rosey gouramis. I was just wondering what I could get for my tank. It does not mean that I will actually get some anglefish but it couls be an option. Thanks for the info(:

you could put 2 angels in their...buy them as juvies and make sure theres plenty of plants or hiding spots...silk or real plants that are tall are adored by angels...mine do fine with gourami's ...id worry more about the gourami's fighting with eachother ....you can see in the tank where you buy them, which angels hang out together and which dont...purchase two that are buddies already

My gouramis seem to be buddies but they are still young so that could soon change..... I think I might get 2 of them, but I'm still depating with myself.. Haha! About the plants again. You say to get silk plants? Whats wrong with the plastic type? Do they get hurt on them or something. I was just wondering because if they can't have plastic ones then I have to fix my tank. I didn't read anything about that when researching them. I want to make sure I know a lot before I purchase them.

plastic are ok..just make sure all plants are smooth and you cant catch like a nylon stocking on it..you dont want any fins torn...angels swim in and out of the taller plants all the time ....as long as they have no sharp areas, you should be ok

Thank you for telling me that. I will check them before I decide to get anything. Oh and some fish like to go inside places and in a way " call them their own " and I was wondering if they would like something like that. I mean like a place to hide or do they just like to roam around in the plants? Question, questions, questions......

as juvies, and until they get use to a new tank, they do hide...but as they grow, they cruise around through them

your welcome...I get most of my silks from the dollar store...tons of nice looking plants...I cant grow any real ones in my tank to save my life!!! just make sure you boil anything you buy and try not to get any with color in them as a member had theirs bleed the color into the tank ....
