Most Peaceful Type of Cichlid?

Whats considered to be the most peaceful kind smaller then 7 inches. Just curious, I'm not planning on adding anything anytime soon. Just curious.

I agree with agabr123 i own 1 bolivian ram i had a blue german but it died...they are pretty sensitive to water conditions. I would also look into keyhole cichlids kribs rams and possibly angelfish but they get kind of big.

Buffalo head or apistograms- i like the borelli ones myself. Both like to have thier own cave area and the floor prettymuch. I've cleared my floor for buffalo heads but im considering the borellis now, i wonder if i could split the tank floor aor them both.

Thomasi Cichlid is another peaceful species, just make sure you research them before you purchase as some need special requirements for example:-
  • The Thomasi cichlid is very sensitive to waste and will be affected in the case of ammonia spikes.
  • The German blue ram is very picky with their food and require a high quality diet along with a mature tank.

I would say any of the rams. My blue and gold ram leave the other fish alone most of the time. They have their moments like when they play the "mine game" over a sinker pellet, but other than that they are content to just swim around and keep themselves entertained.
