Cloudy Water?

I've been having problems with ammonia and ICH lately but my water has been fine. The cycle is about midway through and its about 2 PPM. My pictus cat just died from ich but my water has always been fine (for the last 3 weeks since I got the tank) Why is this happening and what should I do?

PS I am using AMMO-LOCK brand ammonia stopper but it doesnt seem to be working much, just FYI I dunno if it helps.

cloudy water is probably a sign of a bacterial bloom since you are in the middle of your cycle. if it doesnt clear up by the end of the cycle (0ppm ammonia and nitrite, 5-20 nitrate) then you might have some other problem, but for now i wouldnt be too concerned about it.

you've probably already heard this, but you should be doing 50% water changes and raising your temperature to 84, to get your fish through the cycle without causing harm to their internal organs and to treat the ich, respectively.

Hi,
When you say it's at 2ppm...what is at that level..The ammonia??
How often are you doing water changes and how much are you changing.
How are you treating the ICH??
You fish are suffering from the effects of a cycling tank which makes them weak and unable to fight of parasites and infection..This is why they have ICH and are dying..I'm sorry that your having to go through it but there are measures you can take to help you fish.

A simple way to treat ich is to raise the temp to 83 or 84 degrees Fahrenheit for two weeks. No need to use meds. You'll need to do frequent water changes and vacuum the gravel but that shouldn't be any big deal because your having to do that for the ammonia anyway. I would say stop using the treatment and raise the temp and waterchanges and you should start to see improvements.
