Are 2 Gouramis OK together?

How would a Blue Gourami and a Dwarf flame Gourami do together? I dont want them to fight but I'm trying to save a betta and the Flame is taking up the 5 gallon tank.

Are 2 Gouramis OK together?

I would be moving a Flame Dwarf into a tank with a Blue Gourami (who was added just yesterday) with some danios and a catfish and eventually a couple cory cats. Anyway will they fight or be OK?

what size tank? if its big enough with enough hiding spaces, it could work..but id say it would have to be 40gals or more ...they dont like others in their territory

ok then how would a betta do with a dwarf? Right now hes with a Blue Gourami and 4 danios sand a catfish- do you think it might make him less stressed?

I wouldnt, bettas and gouramis are both very territorial. Even my 2 pearl gouramis can get nippy in my 38 gallon. A dwarf would be no match for the blue gourami if it decided to attack, and it wouldnt have anywhere to hide in your 20 gallon.

bettas and gouramis are too much alike to be together...bettas like to be alone and arent community fish by nature..ive seen exceptions to the rule when raised with siblings but not after being added with other fish...in a 20 gal, one will end up in a war for sure...

i agree with what everyone is saying here, dont mix the betta with your community tank........More than likely your betta will end up dead.......The gouramis together COULD work but not in a 20 gallon......I have a blue and a gold (both males) in a 90 gallon, but i have it very heavily planted and some floating plants on the surface.........The gouramis actually hang out together......Sometimes one will chase the other away, but for the most part the aggression is non-existant......There has never been fins torn or any injuries.........I'm rather sure its the size of the tank and all the cover that allows this to go on..........Anything smaller, i think your gonna have problems.........Plese dont take this personally, but there is alot of research that needs to be done before you start filling a cycled tank with fish.......I know not everyone can have a back-up tank to put the aggressor or the victim in, but i always have a back-up tank in case there are issues with aggression........This same community tank has a african cichlid (Johanni mutt) that in reality should tear all his other tank mates apart, but he is a model fish.....Gave him plenty of rock caves to hang out in, but he chooses to stay in the mid-water column...........Sometimes you never know how certain fish will react to certain situations, thats why having a second alternative is always a good choice.

All of my 4 gouramis are fine with a betta except a dwarf noen blue he hates bettas and turns purpley . This is only because one blue betta attacked him.My combo is 1 gold, 1D. powder blue, 1 honey,1 F. neon and i have a 50g. I suggest only dwarfs for a 20. But i now you can have two or three dwarfs depending on thier tepmerment. Honeys and powder blue are the moe sociable ones.
