I just got a pictus catfish yesterday and it, understadably, spent most of it's first day hiding however, today it is out and swimming up to the surface and back down- very fast, repeatedly. This doesnt sound normal because he is supposed to be a bottom feeder. Any thoughts? (He's in an undercroweded 20 gallon tank BTW)

thats very normal ...they are fish that never stop moving and are always scrounging everywhere

we have one of those catfish in with cichlids, lovely lookin catfish they are. does yours swim upside down on the surface?

lol, my corycats do the same thing, they do their little "wall dance" and sometimes come all the way up for a little gasp of air
