I went to a fabulous
LFS, House of Fins in Greenwich Ct. I was looking for an
RO unit (another story) but also was interested in getting a cleaning crew to help take care of the algae in my tank. Very helpful sales person suggested Siamensis, he said to figure about 1 fish to maintain 10 gals of tank. I bought 5 as they like to be in groups. Also my tank is a 55 gal. They're cleaning up the beard algae/red/black algae. I've never found a fish that would eat this stuff. I've had the team for a little over a week and they are doing a great job! I went back to the store and reported the good news. Also I have to add, I see no aggression. They are very compatible. They do swim a bit more quickly. But everyone seems fine with them. (these are not to be confused with Chinese algae eaters, they can become aggressive)
