need help finding a certain fish

Well quite a while ago...10 years to be exact...my mom had a little one gallon fish tank, with a single placo and another fish wich I need help trying to identify. Now I know 1g is way to small for a placo, but this was a long time ago, and its not really the point.

So im trying to identify this fish for my mom. She said it was very tiny, kindof fat, and looks like a tiny bumble bee. I know right away you might thing bumble bee goby, but I showed her a picture of one and she said it didnt quite look the same. She said it was fatter, and it mightve been sortof fuzzy, but she really cant remember. (I told her it was probally a real bee or it had a disease =P)

Now I dont know any fish that looks like that besides the goby, and I told her it mightve just been a sick fish, especially if it really was a goby since they are brackish...and weather what ever fish it was is suitable for a 1g tank is not the question here, im just trying to figure out what it was.

Almost sounds like it might be a puffer - the figure eight puffer is black and yellow looking...

I checked the puffer, and she doesnt think it is it.

It almost looked exactly like a bumble bee, it was hardly bigger then a pea, but it was more football shaped...extremely round, alot rounder then that puffer.

It has to be the Bumblebee Goby, just not as healthy as the ones you might find pictured. They are very small and look like bees. Her memory might be adding details that were not actually there, its some kind of psychological thing that we humans do. There are also fungal infections that come in a variety of colors that look fuzzy, so it could have been a younger fish covered in fungus.
