ok so the CAE is bad so...

What do I get for the algae?

Temperament / Behavior : As a juvenile it should be ok in a community tank but as it matures it can become a pest and should be removed from community tanks. It's probably best not to get them for community tanks in the first place. There are better algae eaters available for community tank setups

What are these better algae eaters for a 29g tank with 1 rainbow and 6 t barbs?

thanks

bristlenose plecostomus cats top out at around 6 inches at the max. Common Plecos and Sailfin Plecos will grow anywhere between 12 - 20 inches. A bristlenose catfish will constantly be on the move for algae and stay at a small size

they will eat algae in their juvenile years, but as they age, they'll be more inclined to eat whatever you feed the rest of your fish. I'd still say BN pleco or Otos.
