Acck! i warned my mother about the african butterfly fish..

I told her it was a night predator and that when it got all grown up it would attack her tetras and guppies in her tank... for the past two nights when light went out she started missing fish... she is really regreting this fish now... Should she just take it back to the fish store? Her solution was to keep the lights on.. of coarse I told her that would seriously stress the fish.

It will stress the fish to leave the lights on.
If she doesn't want to keep losing her smaller fish, the two options she has are to bring the thing back or to get it a tank of its own.

I told her to get rid of it the day she bought it.. that she would loose anything that it could put in its mouth when it got full grown.. its time has come.... now she is complaining...

What would happen if I put it in one of my lake malawi tanks? would it thrive? or would one of my cichlids make it a meal?

She put the african butterfly in the 10g w/ the betta!!!! I think my mom has lost her mind!! The poor betta! I can't talk any sense into that woman... the only hope for those poor fish is when she gets her resturant really going and thriving is her to say "i can't handle these fish do you want them??" then when I get them I know they will be in good hands... The first thing I will do w/ that african butterfly is take it to the fish store!
