I've had this Honey Sunset Dwarf Gourami since Dec I believe and he's always been a friendly fish. I do water changes every 7-10 days and the test results from last week were all the same as in my info. My stocking info is also correct. I feed Omega flakes.
I must admit I didn't do a very good checking of my fish the past couple weeks do to personal issues but this morning I notice that his poor tail is almost a nub. I looked up a picture I took a few weeks ago and sure enough he had a full tail. The only thing that has changed is that I assume the corys are laying eggs all over the tank but I don't see how that would affect the Honey. It's only the tail that seems the issue, the rest of him looks fine.
He is still eating but don't seem very active anymore. None of the other fish show any signs of issues. I did some researching and the obvious sign is fin rot. Thou, I don't know what is the cause, either bacteria or if the Danios have finally gotten to be annoying for him. I've never seen them nip the Honey.
I've read that I can do daily water changes with Prime to help increase the slime coat and I've read that I should use meds. I don't have a
QT so anything I have to do will have to involve all the fish.
I can take a picture after work.
