I think the shaking might be due to your water parameters being out of whack. Malachite Green is known to affect the biological filter and it seems to have done just that. Your nitrite readings which should be at 0 are at 10 now. Since you're in a mini cycle you will need to do daily water changes with a good conditioner like Prime which will keep your nitrites detoxed for 24 hours between water changes. I would also recommend getting liquid test kits for all your tests as opposed to just the ammonia test. Strips are highly inaccurate and it is important to know where your readings truly stand while you take care of this mini cycle.

my molly has ich as in your other thread, the tank needs to be cycled to begin with ...as prince suggested, some prime and DAILY water changes will do that....I hope the new tank is coming soon before death occurs its overstocked and the fish babies are going to continue to get sick ....good luck!!!! hope things look up soon!

the new tank will come when i get a 100% on a test in my worst subject: math
division mostly. OR i can take care of my fish for another 3 weeks without them dying. what should i choose? i don't want my fish to die. they aren't shaking as much as they were when i posted this. my molly is fine

I'd say take care of your fish for another three weeks. Their lives are more important than division. Partial water changes with some Prime (if you have some/can get some) and keep your fingers crossed. I've also read that Aquarium salt can help against the damage to the fishes gills from the nitrite.
P.S. I was good at math in school but I graduated in '07' so I haven't done it in a while, do you need help? What kind of division?

Actually, my dad messed it up. i have to wait one week because i havent killed a fish in some time. last fish i killed was a guppy that died of ammonia poisining. I have always had problems with division facts. I still do so long division is hard. i just failed one test. i have them every thursday. I cant get prime but i do have stuff that removes ammonia and chlorine. I am trying to convince my dad that when the cycle is finished i can get a 10gal. i have another question. why do i have a nitrite AND nitrate reading?
P.S. I can do multiplication fine.

Your tap water probably has some nitrate in it, mine does.
Well I just reviewed how to do long division and I seem to have no trouble with it (gosh I must be bored to review long division, I don't think that I have done it since grade 7 lol)
So, your goals for the future:
get a liquid test kit
get some Prime
get the 10g tank
DESTROY LONG DIVISION

Then I why there is that much nitrate. It is probably the test strips reading being inaccurate then
and HORRAY for the long division! Good luck for the next test!

Congratulations on your test! Please don't get any more fish until you have your current fish in more stable living conditions. Even if you get your larger tank, you would still need to cycle it. Bettas do best when they have tanks to themselves. You would not be able to put him in the tank with your other fish. He also can't be kept in a bowl forever. He will need his own tank with a heater and a filter and that tank needs to be properly cycled FIRST.

Congrats on your math!!

Please don't put a betta in bowl. It's not a proper home for one.
Bettas are tropical fish and would so best in a heated, cycled tank.
