Hi guys

Found a white spot on my platy is this something to be concerned over?

Are you referring to the spot in front of the dorsal fin? Pictures can sometimes be deceiving, so can you describe it a little.

Is it fuzzy? Is it just that spot? When did it first appear? Has it changed appearance at all? Does the platy seem affected - is he acting any differently? Water conditions/params normal?

I hope he's okay. He's a very handsome boy.

When I got him he also has a tiny pin sized hole in the dorsal fin bang in the centre which hasn't changed. The dot almost looks like a splat of white paint, and not sugar like (as I hear ICH looks like).

Hello Venomgrass,

It looks a bit like it could be a damaged scale....if so it will heal ok, but keep an eye on it in case its a fungus or fungus developes. He's a pretty little fish!!!

Yeah the tank has had an outbreak of ich, and one platy has developed fin rot. When purchasing i noticed one platy had a pin hole through his fin. I'm currently treating the entire tank with medication
