So I look in my tank this evening and my female cherry barb has a big white thing on/coming out of her mouth. She was fine this morning. I was on my way out the door so I had to leave her. When I got back 3 hours later the thing looked like a white ball she was holding. It didn't look like fin rot but the other fish were trying to take it from her so I managed to net her and put her in my quarantine tank. In the 10 or so steps I took the ball was dislodged and she seems chipper now. I found the ball and it was a bit squishy and poped when I squeezed it. I know barbs aren't mouth brooders but was wondering if anyone has ever had anything like this happen. Thanks for the input.

Hello Nayalee. How odd! What came out of the little white ball when it popped? Just being curious. What types of fish do you have in your tank. Could it have been an egg from another species? Was it actually attached to the fishes mouth or something just stuck there?
