betta with a cloudy eye

why does drama always happen when you are busy?
well i noticed about 4-5 days ago my oldest female betta (i have had her for approx 7 months and she seemed quite big when i got her) she has started to get a cloudy eye. only one and it now seems to be getting worse.
i have checked for velvet and cant see any sign of it. the other fish including female betta's in the tank are all ok. no sign of disease, water parameters all ok, 30-40% water changed weekly. planted 200litre.
varied diet of frozen/live bloodworm, daphnie, brine shrimp and flakes. regular small feeds,
she is eating, swimming, but tends to stay down one end of the tank now (i think she might feel safe)
do they tend to go blind, or might there be another cause?
sorry about the unfocused pic

bettas in a community tank, seem to always come up with some sickness or injury...stress for them is very high when put in this type of setup .....cloudy eye is usually an issue with water ....but if shes stressed out (hanging at one side of the tank is a first sign) her immune system could be very low and it could be anything effecting her what were your latest readings for ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates?

ammonia 0, nitrate 15, nitrite 5, sorry this is what i think it was ( am at work now and tested 2 days ago)
i just removed 5 male guppies and added 5 female bettas. This could be the cause of the stress. hmmmm. i am removing 7 more guppies next week
the females bettas have all been getting along fine, i havent seen any fights and there are soo many spaces for them, i worry my self trying to find them.
I also changed the direction of a filter, from down the tank to accross the tank. oh no. have i stressed her out?

I though my betta had a cloudy eye too, but wasn't sure, it does look a little like your bettas eye (and is the same eye funnily enough). Nothing in my tank has changed for weeks and the water levels are ammonia 0, nitrates about 15 like yours, and nitrites 0 (tested last night).
Mine is also hanging about in corners and his tail looks as if it is beginning to clamp up but has come to nothing for days now. I think he might just not be fanning it out as he feels a little unwell.
Hopefully someone can help you out soon and I will be watching this thread to see if it helps me too!!

the tank is in a mini cycle and im sure thats not helping daily water changes with some prime will help that.....and betta girls are just as mean as the boys...and im sure something is going on when you arent around I would find a breeder box or a QT tank for her and keep her water prestine, warm, and add some extra stress coat and maybe soak all her food in fresh garlic juice

you can try the crushed garlic..but its so much easier to buy the jars of already crushed that has all the juices in there..then poor a couple drops of juice on a cap or bowl and put her food in it for a good 15 min or so...hope things look up!

thanks. going to get some tomorrow. i have done a water change, she is swimming round the tank like her usual self now, also she is the boss out of the bettas, you can see them always back away from her. not sure if thats her size or that she was the first in the tank. either way she has the most character and i hope her eye gets better or doesn't get worse.
