I bought several new fancy guppies from Petco about two hours ago. All the fish were fine when I put them in my tank but about 15 minutes ago I noticed this little guy appeared to have something sticking out of his stomach. At first I thought it may have been a bite from another male, but can guppies be that violent?
I removed him from the main tank as soon as i noticed the protrusion. At first he would be completely still, then swim around for a while, then be completely still. But he seemed to have a problem staying right side up. Every time he was still, his stomach turned up. He is now almost completely paralyzed, I actually thought he was dead, but hes now moving his side fins a bit. What is wrong with him? And should I worry about my other fish?

Sorry for your fish. His face looks in pain his eyes are dilated... Hope he gets better. Just curious, what is sticking out? is it the dark spot just below the belly?

He died shortly after this post, I feel really bad for him, I hate that his last moments were in such pain and shock.
Yes the part that is sticking out is the dark spot on his belly.

As far as guppy's death is concerned, some fish don't handle the change well. If you need help figuring out how to acclimate, let us know.

It looks like a prolapse but i dont think males have prolapses
