Sick Cichlid, how should I treat this?

Hello, my German ram pair was doing great until today. Then I found that my male german ram had a swollen lower lip on the right side and a red spot on the same corresponding side. ammonia is 0, nitrite is 0, and nitrate is 10 PPM. I just did a 20 % water change yesterday.

Here is a picture of my fish.

Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Maybe he's been fighting. Often cichids will lock lips/mouths during a fight for territory or dominance.
Often cichlids are even more agressive while mating.
Are there sharp rocks or other ornaments he could have scraped against during a chase or a lip lock fight?
I'm curious as to what other fish are in there with the ram pair?

I'm sure that you are aware that your water changes will help him heal faster.
So it's best for him, especially now, that you do them a little more frequently.
Hope he's on the mend.
