Fat fish! :( What's wrong?

I got my bettas a couple of weeks ago at petsmart, they are named Neptune (male), and Saturn (female)... They are in identical 1.5 gallon tanks with gravel from the same bag and each has two plants, Neptune (the male) has a rock tunnel thing in his tank and I am using the properly indicated amount of Top Fin betta Water Conditioner stuff recommended by petsmart in each of their tanks. Saturn is now REALLY fat! I am worried that she is sick or has a tumor, does anyone know enough about these fishies to help me? Also, I'd be more than willing to share any other information needed to help diagnose what's wrong... I can include pictures after they are done transferring from my camera. I'm just really worried about Saturn and don't want her to die because of something I've done... Oh! And I feed both of them the same amount of betta food pellets... Could her metabolism perhaps be slower than Neptune's?

sounds like saturn is eggbound..if you could get a pic for us we could help for sure....if she is, moving her away from him might help her release them.....

Welcome to FishLore
Great suggestion from Shawnie.
I also wonder if you might be over feeding. Is she pooing?
Here's our Betta Care Guide

Good luck, I hope she feels better soon.

Welcome to Fishlore... I'm so sorry your betta is having problems but you've got some great advice from the above posters. Lucy also gave you a great link to check out. I sure hope she pulls through I know its' rough when they are sick, it makes you feel helpless.
