Mysterious Death?

Yesterday I went to my LFS and baught two dalmation mollies. When I arrived home I let them assimilate for about 30 mins. When I added them I notice my platy couldn't swim on its own, it was on the gravel lying there but still alive. So I thought, i'll just do a water change and add some salt. Did that checked water

pH 7.0 - 7.2
ammonia 0ppm

When I woke up one dalmation and my platy was dead?

PH 7.0 - 7.2
Ammonia 0ppm

What went wrong?

I'm really sorry about your fish That stinks to bring home a new one only to have it pass so quickly.
Some times you just get a weak fish.
I really should point out, that you shouldn't be adding anymore fish you your tank.
10'g just can't handle the bio-load and their preferences like swim room.

When we first bring home a fish, we have to remember that our water could be much different from the store that you purchased your fish. It's better acclimate them slowly by floating the bag in the tank so the temp can adjust and over the course of an hour or so, slowly add tank water to the bag.
This way if there's a pH or salinity difference, the fish has a chance to adjust.

I shoud also add that cories don't do very well with salt, I hope they're ok.

Echoing Lucy here. A ten gallon simply cannot keep up with this ever increasing bio-load. Molly's generally need a 30 gallon plus, as they do grow large. Cory's cannot tolerate salt, and you may soon be facing difficulties. Mollys can tolerate salt water as they are a brackish fish, however most have never ever seen salt in their lives, and the shock may have killed it.
