Please help!

I have these weird looking little worm things in my tank! They are very small and I have just noticed my corydoras are looking VERY sickly! There are 2 sick corydoras, one honey/sunset gourami, and one shrimp. Any ideas on what they are and how to treat them??

I'm so sorry your fish aren't doing well!

If you could post a picture or find something on the internet that looks like what you are describing, that would really help. Some worms are harmless & actually make tasty treats for fish, so if we could identify the worm, we could better determine whether or not that it the cause of your sic corys. In the meantime, can you Q the corys?

Hello. Good request from Ilovee...also if you could post your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate readings will be a great help as well. Tell us about your tank. Too, when you have time if you'll complete the "aquarium information" in your profile will help others to help you more!
Sorry to hear you're having problems!

yes, yes check your parameters!!! Water changes regular? Cleaning?? I had an outbreak of flat worms once...fish couldn't eat them all...they got all over the glass at night.....was a sign that i wasn't doing my water changes reliably and had a bit of ammonia spike, and sort of overfeeding.

They are in Q right now. Hopefully they will get better soon! I will test the water as soon as possible.

Well, it is too late now to help them... I feel horrilbe I couldn't catch it sooner...

im sorry for your losses
if they are tiny white worms that squiggle all over the place, its planaria and usually caused from overfeeding or unused food/waste at the bottom...they dont bother fish but should be vaccuumed up and cleaned out of the tank....can you test your tank to make sure you havent lost the cycle?

There is no way I will ever be able to replace them... There was something really wrong with them, but I don't know what... I cleaned the worms up but I am worried about my other fish I had with them.

If the worms were brought on by poor water quality (high ammonia/nitrites/nitrates) then vacuuming the worms & keeping up on regular water changes should keep your other fish safe -- adding a live plant may help too. I'm really sorry you lost your little corys & I hope your other fish are feeling better.
