Sad??

My koi angel has been fine(swimming and eating.etc) in my 100gal for about a month now when I saw him being harrassed by my clown loaches. So I decided to move him to my 75gal Discus tank last night before I went to bed. This morning when I checked on him He was lying half dead on his side against the glass. Only recently I am beggining to think that my tank has Singapore Angel Disease... mainly because my angel has been fine for a month and now he is almost dead. I also remember previously keeping 3 Juvie angels and they died 2 days after prchase. Please help??

Just for the record the water parameters are amm: 0 nitrite: 0 nitrate: 10 for both tanks.

I think you should start a thread asking that. I don't wat to take way the topic from this thread. I am sorry about your fish. It must be hard. I really connect with my fish and wouldn't want them dying.

im sorry for the loss check the pH in both tanks....if your water parimeters are on track, im going to take a guess that it might be a ph shock .....

Thanks guys, checked pH last night, its 7.8 in the discus tank and 7.6 in the other tank. Would that have made a major difference?

Hello Atkinson...if you didn't acclimate the fish prior to adding it to the other tank it could very well have been pH shock. It's been my experience that you can take a fish from a low pH to a high pH without too much of a problem. However, when you take a fish from a high pH to a low pH it could cause fatalities. Either way your fish should be acclimated...temperature could also be an issue.
Ken.

Hi Ken, I acclimatised my angel for best part of a hour with an airline dripping into the bag from the tank. The temperature was from 27oC-28oC. Total mystery to me.
