clamped fins

i have one swordtail in my 25 gallon tank with clamped fins. quite badly, and sitting on the bottom.
she was fine yesterday. i did stress the fish yesterday as i had to catch 4 of the juveniles out to be sold.
she is the only one that has clamped fins.
ammonia is less then 0.02 PPM
what should i do?

I would do a partial water change of at least 20%.
When you netted the fish to be sold your other fish were understandibly stressed.
Stressed fish may give off excessive hormones and phermones, those need removed from the tank.

Also, you probably stirred up some nitrates and debris if you moved decorations around the tank to catch 'em.

How's the temp. in the tank? Big fluctuations can cause stress.

You may also need to leave the lights off for a few hours today to calm them all down.
Good luck and I hope your sword is better by now,

I hope your sword recovers soon from his stress. It sure sounds like that, a few of my Platys have done that after removing fry for the LFS. I now just take it a lot slower and move some plants prior to netting. Gives them time to adjust.
** thanks alicem, considerations about stirring up the nitrates etc, didn't think about the biological reactions to the fish..

they are still clamped. one other swordtail looks slightly clamped now and my gourami looks....weird. clamped but also her lips look odd. not sure how to explain that one.

today was mental and i wasnt home all day. just got home now at 1030pm and i cant even think about doing a water change now. first thing in the morning i will. hope they will be ok, especially the gourami
