Hey, my tank parameters were perfect when I got some swordtails. I got two to begin with but they both died for no apparent reason. I put it down to a bad LFS, so I got two more from another LFS and they are both fine. I think it is hit and miss

I think quite a few people have had issues with them laying on the floor, and then it turns out that they're fine. As long as it is eating then generally it's not too much to be worried about. What are your ammonia parameters? It may be a little overdose of ammonia...

Hello Russ. Hate to hear you're worried about your new buddy. If you've had it less than 3 or 4 days it may still be adapting to it's new home. Too, once you post your readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate, others will be able to help you more as well.
When you bought the new guys how did you acclimate them into the new tank? There could be issues of pH shock as well.
Best of luck. I hope it's going to be alright.
