White Eye!

I just noticed one of my sparkling gourami's eye is white it looks like it's not there anymore or it blew out... Is this caused by a parasite or another fish did this or did he do it to himself? I can't find any thing that might even poke his eye out inside the tank

Water Parameters:
ammonia 0
nitrite .3 PPM (Just added 6 oz of Superbac to help this)
pH 8.0

I would take a guess that he got into a fight with another fish.

What's your nitrate reading?
IMO rather than adding anything, water changes would do more to help lower the nitrites.

Can you post a pic? See if someone can identify whats going on.

Good morning. Hopefully the eye is still there and it's just clouded over a bit. If it is cloudy eye, pristine water conditions will help it to go away. I'd suggest a water change as Lucy suggested asap of at least 25%. Best of luck for a speedy recovery.

Idk the nitrate readings, every time I stop by a fish/pet store they don't have the API nitrate liquid test. I will check out some fish store tonight and also do a water change when I get home. I also tried taking a picture but my camera isn't precise on focusing on small details and they all came out blurry.

I will post updates when I get home.

Thanks for all the help

Edit: .03 not .3 nitrite reading. The white eye is also cloudy. I hope he's not missing an eye! He was also just hanging out in the bottom when I found him last night.

Here are some pics that I tried to take, I think his eye is still there because it cleared a little and the eye was a bit visible. Here are some pics, I hope it's not too blurry to not identify.

Glad to know he's getting better, I'd love Sparkling Gouramis, alas, I can't find any.

Thank you

Though the eye is still not clear it is looking better than before but it's still bulging out. I'm not sure how long it takes to heal.

He's a beautiful fish. It will clear up even more as you do water changes. Glad it's getting better!
