Scarlet Badis Question

ammonia-0
nitrite-0
nitrate-10
pH-somewhere between 6.8 and 7.0
Temp 76

I bought a new little batch of Scarlet Badis (Dario Dario) this weekend. One, either a female or a young uncolored male, looks like his head (upper lip) is either underdeveloped or is just missing. It is swimming fine and happily sucking down nematodes. It just looks a little funny in the head. I've got it alone in a five gallon at the moment.

Are they prone to getting hole in the head disease? Could it be an old injury? Do I even need to concern myself with it at this point?

can you get a picture? it could be an injury, i'd keep your water as pristine as possible and add some melafix as long as you don't have any other labyrinth fish in the tank with him.

Dario dario are so cute. I want some. Like Alex said, a picture could help us figure things out. (Plus I want pictures)

I'm trying my best. (S)he has been hunting in a large water sprite for hours, so I keep getting nice shots of little twigs with a tiny blurry fish behind them. It's frustrating.

I set my little video camera up on in it case (s)he comes out in the open. I should be able to snag a screen shot from it.

Theoretically, anyway.

haha at least its feeling good, right? might help to turn off the flash and use macro mode, if you aren't already.

Indeed I was. I'm going to have to try again tomorrow. I just can't get it tonight. A nice wriggly smear of microworms in the morning should get her away from the water sprite long enough to snap a shot of that head.
