Betta with red sore/ulcer spots

Hi:
One of my male Pla Kat betta has developed overnight multiple red spots, I believe they are tiny ulcers. He's been eating as usual so I believe we detected this early on.

His WC was scheduled for today. I placed him in another tank by himself while I clean thoroughly his in order to disinfect it. I will place a well seeded filter in there and monitor water parameters.

The other tank has similar (if not identical) water parameters, except the temperature is likely 2C higher (his tank temp 24C or 75F, temporary tank 26C or 79F).

Placing a pic in a moment, once I get this in order.

One mistake I realized I made: I ended up exposing the temporary tank. I will need to disinfect this one as well.

I live and I learn. Posting this mistake so others avoid it when facing similar situations.

How are you disinfecting and how did you get them cross contaminated, just curious. Some of the small details can help someone new from making the same mistake.

I used chlorine solution (used standard unscented Ajax or Clorox diluted in tap water 1:20). Dumped away plants, substrate, even the small sponge filter and two ramshorn snails that somehow found their way -I suspects the plants (but saved the suction cups for later). Scrubbed the whole thing with scrubbing thread that I purchase by weight, rinsed a second time using the chlorinated solution and then used tap water.

I mixed water accordingly (3:1 R/O processed drinking water and treated with Seachem's Prime tap water). Placed an Indian Almond Tree Leaf. Brought in a well seeded small HOB filter without cleaning it much (I keep extra filtration running in most tanks).

I contaminated the temporarily tank -a five gal I just cleaned yesterday which was fully cycled. I am killing the cycle of that tank and re-cycling fishless. I won't risk other fish since I placed the sick fish, which has open bloody sores in there.

I didn't acclimate the fish when I placed him in the temporary tank since those two tanks (actually all my Betta tanks) have practically the same water parameters, except for temperature (I don't use heaters, I live almost at sea level in the Caribbean).
