I have a male guppy housed in a 10g divided tank. He is part of a trio I bought, and was quarantining. The females had an outbreak of velvet, so I had treated the tank with Coppersafe.
I recently noticed that the male guppy spent most of the time breathing very rapidly, and lying on the bottom of the tank. He does swim around, and he eats fine. He has no other signs of disease that I can see. I checked my water parameters several times, and they were 0/0/10, as well as doing PWCs anyway. I finally treated with a course of Maracyn/Maracyn 2 in case it was bacterial gill disease. I figured the Coppersafe would have eliminated any gill flukes or parasites.
He seemed to improve slightly, and spends less time on the bottom now. But, he still does it regularly. He is not getting any better or worse, but I'm not sure what else to try to make him healthy again. Any other suggestions or ideas?
