Ich

Hello. I see so many threads about ICH and how to cure it. I have yet to see any threads on ICH prevention other than trying to keep the fish stress free and avoid sudden temperature changes. Well, I use Immune-Plus. It prevents disease without using chems, pesticides or copper. It protects against ICH, vibrio, aeromonas. It contains probiotic bacteria and is all natural. It's for freshwater aquariums. I've used it for many years and luckily I haven't had any fish diseases period. I take wonderful care of my fish and their water but I have to give this PREVENTATIVE 2 thumbs UP. It has a long shelf life especially when you keep it in the refrigerator. Why try to cure a disease when you can possibily prevent it? hmmmmmmm

It is made by Tropical Science Super concentrated IMMUNE-PLUS Disease Preventative for all freshwater fish. (as stated on the bottle). I know Dr.'s F & S have it and so does that fishplace...I think I remember seeing it in PetCo as well. I buy the 64 oz. since it keeps in the refrigerator and it's a bit cheaper in bulk.

In the case of ich, it's probably the fact that you take care of your tank that prevents outbreaks, not any additive you use.
I've never seen an ich outbreak, and the only additive I regularly use is a high-quality dechlorinator.

Not saying that this isn't a quality product, but in the case of ich, the two best pieces of prevention are keeping your water quality under control and quarantining new fish.
In my years on Fishlore, every single case of ich someone has brought up involves one of the following:
An uncycled tank.
Uncontrolled nitrates.
Improper temperature.
Introduction of new fish without quarantine.

You could very well be right but I sure feel better using it lol Too I have to mention that I haven't introduced any new fish into my tank in at least 5 years. Oh and the Immune Plus has a shelf life of 18 months after opening when kept refrigerated. The bottle says the bacteria will remain 100% viable.
