finrot?!?! maybe?

HELP!!! my dwarf rainbows lips have been slighty 'worn' away and are now flat and look like cotton wool (so this is probably fin rot) but the guppies bottom lips has turned a slight yellow colour and have started protruding, same with pepper the angelfish

ive dosed with anti fungus and finrot medicine, is there anything else i can do?

p.s i dont know if this is related but my female ram looks very stressed (very grainey and grey pattern) but the male ram is fine, is this related to finrot?

Thanks
Jack

im sorry your fish are sick
not sure fin rot effects the lips....sounds like something else going on....did you test the water parimeters before medicating ? just in case something was off wack? if you can get a pic for us it might help some...
did you medicate the entire tank with the rams in there?

The ammonia was 0.0. i dont have a nitrate/ite test yet but they shouldn't be too high as it havs alot of live plants

i had to medicate the whole tank as i dont have a QT set up

everyone is swimming and acting fine though except the ram, and i think i might have been over exagerating about the angel, i dont see anything now

i have attached a pic of the rainbows

it doesnt look like fin rot as again, im not sure the lips are effected...deffinately keep an eye on ammonia and nitrites now that you medicated..as most meds will kill the cycle...if you hit a mini cycle, the nitrites could be present so a test kit is probably your best bet to help you with issues that pop up.........it doesnt look severe and almost looks like he banged himself on something..but if the other fish have it, thats probably not the case either if they have the same thing..im glad you angels are better tho...I hope someone has more info for you now that a pic is up because it doesnt look like anything ive seen before ... and again im sorry their are sick

i did a 20% change and as soon as i went over to the take they all come to the surface, wish i could have done a bigger change but i have to get up early in the morning and will end up waking everyone in my house up, soo i put the active carbon in to take the rest of the meds out, will that still do the job?

i sprinkled a tiny bit of food in and everyone was behaving normally again

the white bits on the rainbows' mouths could be bruises as when i cleaned the front of the glass on sunday after the waterchange they went very stressed and started swimming out of control, so could they have swam into the side of the tank then?

i'm pretty sure it's mouth rot, i'd go with the jungle buddies tabs for mouth rot if you can find them.

it very well could be from being injured...but you thought other fish had it? it looked like a bang to me but if the others have it, I wouldnt be sure.....the carbon will help alot yes....if they are eating, thats a great sign....I hope things look up soon!! just remember to keep an eye on your cycle as the meds will probably do a number on it goodluck and sleep as best you can !!
