I was watching my 55 gallon today and noticed that my red wag sword had some white poo, but the consistency didn't look stringy like the last time I had the internal parasites in my tank (if that makes any sense, I know this is an odd subject). Does this mean internal parasites? I had them in this tank about three months ago, and cleared it up with Jungle's parasite clear tabs and medicated fish food. Since then I hadn't had any problems, no new fish added, and no new plants, so is this a re-occurrence? Or am I over reacting completely? I just wanted to double check...I have to head back to school Wednesday, so if they need to be medicated I have to make sure I have everything in the house and write directions out for mom about what and how much to give them to get them healthy again. Thanks in advance for any help.

What's in their diet? Sometimes after feeding baby brine shrimp or zucchini, my guppies will have lighter poo.

Sounds like parasites to me. Sorry. I'm assuming since you've been through this before you know how to treat them, or I have a little information on it, having battled it myself. Although I don't know if you want my advice, my fish didn't make it!

I'm still watching them...it was darker again today. Ray, I had never noticed it before, but I had just fed them some brine shrimp, so that very well may be what was going on. I'll probably throw in some parasite clear tabs tomorrow just to be safe.

MeGusta, sorry to hear your fish didn't make it. All my guys made it through last time, but I think I caught it pretty early. I just used the parasite clear tablets and some medicated food and it cleared things right up.

I had the same probs with a Dwarf Gourami and Pleco. I used the Tank Buddies as well with the medicated food. Seems like that is the right treatment. Good luck.
