i have a male dalmation molly and two females and have latly noticed that he sometimes hangs in the water by the gravel with all his fin fanned out but he just hangs with his tail touching the bottom of the tank. he comes up to eat and then swims normaly but when ever he stops swiming his tail tightens up but the rest of his fins including his anal fin flair up and often his anal fin flips forward. is all this behavoir normal, is he sick and how can i help him?

If he is clamping his fins it may be ammonia in the water, have you done a water test recently? What were the readings?

their was no ammonia in the tank although i use test strips but i want to get an AIP testing kit for my B-Day on march 6th. i was thinking maybe he had swim bladder or somthing, and its only his tail and only at times so i DK.
